It’s that time of year again… Hot weather is here and supporting your people is important, especially while ensuring productivity doesn’t take a hit!

Here are five tips to help you strike the right balance:

  1. Stay hydrated: Encourage your team to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Provide access to fresh water and remind them to take regular breaks to rehydrate, even if working from home.
  2. Dress code flexibility: Consider relaxing the dress code for more comfortable clothes during hot days. This can boost employee morale and help them stay cool and focused.
  3. Adjust work schedules: If feasible, offer flexible work hours or allow employees to start earlier or finish later to avoid the peak heat hours. This can help them manage their energy levels and avoid extreme temperatures.
  4. Create a cool workspace: Ensure workspaces are well ventilated including providing fans or air conditioning and use window coverings to block out direct sunlight where possible. A comfortable environment can enhance productivity.
  5. Check in regularly: Maintain open lines of communication with your team. Ask how they’re coping with the heat and provide any necessary support. Showing genuine care and concern goes a long way.

A very cheesy but relevant phrase comes to mind, especially when it’s too hot to sleep in between work, that a happy team is a productive team – Don’t forget to support them if you want the best results this week!

A few lollies will go down well too 🍭🍦
