With Mental Health affecting a reported 350,000 people in work every year, it’s not surprising to find that there are concerns with employers approach to dealing with it.
I was pleased to see that the BBC have tackled this issue head on and interviewed people to see how to tackle it… watch below.
There’s a lot of tips given but the key points raised include:
- Consider putting a wellbeing action plan together before approaching your employer
- It’s not mandatory to disclose all mental health conditions to your employer but you could benefit from the support given
- Utilise services such as the Mind Legal Helpline where needed
There’s a huge movement around employers starting to tackle mental health challenges in the workplace and is positively changing the lives of many due to this.
